Product details
The aim of this work is to illuminate the influence and personality of the second Linz diocesan bishop and founder of the Episcopal seminary, Joseph Anton Gall (1748-1807), against the political and intellectual backdrop of his time. By incorporating extensive archival material and contemporary writings, an attempt is made to portray the role of the 'Josephinian bishop' during the turbulent years of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
