The topic of drug abuse and prevention work remains a widely discussed issue in the media and public discourse. In this context, the abuse of illegal drugs often receives more attention from the public than that of legal drugs, which includes alcohol. Nevertheless, the use and abuse of alcohol represent a very serious societal problem and pose a significant danger, particularly for young people in our society. Therefore, addiction prevention measures primarily target the youth demographic. The central focus of the discussion is the question of the purpose, success, and impact of addiction prevention. This question is pursued throughout the entire book, but finding a conclusive answer is challenging, as the topic of addiction does not lend itself to a neat resolution.
