The anthology brings together more than 30 works on the design of childhood in the GDR. The authors, often directly involved in shaping childhood conditions in the GDR, aim to provide insights into the construction of childhood in the GDR, the intentions of the actors, and their mutual relationships. As representatives of various academic disciplines, they offer diverse, more or less critical perspectives on childhood design that could serve as conceptual proposals for shaping contemporary childhood.
