Product details
Liu Zhiji (661-721 AD) is the founder of traditional Chinese historiography. His main work, the Shi Tong, contains an extensive critique of the Chun Qiu. The present study of Liu Zhiji's reception of the Chun Qiu concludes that Liu's criticism, despite its occasionally polemical tone, remains immanent, meaning that it arises from the foundation of the Chun Qiu tradition of ethical and didactic historiography.
