This volume contains the proceedings of a colloquium held in Oslo in the fall of 2004 on the topic of Modernity, Postmodernity - and what else?, which was attended by Norwegian and Kiel Germanists. It brings together contributions on fundamental questions of literary postmodernism, particularly regarding whether postmodernism is a designation of an era or characteristics of a specific corpus of texts. Specific features of postmodernism are examined through individual works.
