In the course of the Austrian constitutional consultations in 1920 and 1929, the Weimar Constitution was taken as a model. It was pointed out that certain institutions, such as state representation, fundamental rights, and the head of state, should be shaped according to the German model. The aim of this work is to analyze how much the provisions of the Weimar Constitution actually influenced the Austrian development. The study focuses on specific institutions such as the parliament, head of state, and fundamental rights. Essentially, the constitutional texts are compared, including the corresponding drafts for Austria. As far as the sources allow, the reasons for the respective shaping in the enacted constitutional text are ultimately provided.
