This book presents the most important preliminary considerations and decisions regarding the creation of a German-Italian online specialized dictionary of linguistics (DIL). It establishes the main characteristics of a specialized dictionary according to the current state of research. An overview of lexicographic work in the field of linguistics in Germany and Italy is provided, along with the advantages and disadvantages of the online medium. After a detailed presentation of the project, including the technical means used, target audience, hypothetical functions, lexicographic criteria, and the delimitation of the lemma inventory, decisions regarding the macro and micro structure are justified and illustrated with screenshots. The current status of the project, as well as future perspectives and desiderata, conclude the work.
