Pronunciation deviations among Korean learners of German and recommendations for pronunciation exercises initially address the contrastive phonology, phonetics, and phonotactics of Korean and German. Due to the structural differences between the two languages, typical pronunciation errors and difficulties of Korean learners of German can be predicted. Furthermore, pronunciation deviations of Korean learners of German are examined on both auditory (receptive) and productive levels. Finally, the author formulates recommendations for an optimally didactic and methodological approach to exercises based on the research findings, which can facilitate foreign language acquisition.
