The work deals with the development of specialized public prosecutor's offices and, building on that, with the legal status of the economic advisor working at the specialized public prosecutor's office. It examines the specialization in combating economic crime in an international comparison and investigates whether it would be legally permissible to establish specialized public prosecutor's offices with nationwide jurisdiction. The work questions the effects of the organizational integration of the economic advisor as well as their status as an investigative person. In this context, a possible rejection due to concerns about bias according to the Code of Criminal Procedure is examined in detail. The author analyzes the position of the economic advisor both empirically and in a comparative legal context and identifies the need for reform.
