In the field of regulatory law, there is an intensive sector-specific promotion of consumer rights. The author illustrates this through the consumer protection provisions of the Telecommunications Act, particularly regarding the amendments made by the 2012 revision. A comprehensive overview of the existing regulatory material is provided, the subject matter is evaluated, and regulatory approaches are systematized. It is noted that the current consumer protection approach is justified by the particular vulnerability of consumers, which can be traced back to the specific characteristics of the market environment. However, within the framework of regulatory intent, the consumer is perceived as an informed and autonomous actor.
