Product details
Literary reflections on changes from the mid-17th to the 18th century are discussed through culturally established motifs. The 'social system of literature' here refers to both the theoretical and practical contributions of a literary discourse to the systematization of historically constructed social tensions. Due to the proximity of themes and methods, cultural aspects are also taken into account. Baroque comedies are understood as 'countertexts' to the great tragedies. By examining the description of typification processes in the comedies of Andreas Gryphius and Christian Reuter, the formation of stereotypical phenomena, their societal relevance, and their rise to ideal developmental carriers are investigated.
