The subject of this work is the examination of the taxation of transactions in the foreign exchange market. The focus is on European legal foundations and the framework conditions for harmonizing transaction taxation. Additionally, economic relationships are addressed to highlight and consider problem-relevant connections, particularly in the relationship between the financing and steering purposes of taxation. The findings of this investigation are compiled in the form of general conclusions.
