Hannah Arendt's attempts to feel at home in the world are the focus of this work. A description of Arendt's significant life stages is combined with an analysis of her major works for a comprehensive examination. Shaped by the fundamental experience of uprootedness, Arendt seeks to regain her lost sense of home through writing. The written word serves not only as a communicative tool but also as a fruitful medium to enhance her thought process and understand complex relationships. She attributes particular importance to letters due to their semi-public, semi-private nature, which is why the correspondence—especially with Karl Jaspers, Martin Heidegger, and her husband Heinrich Blücher—takes center stage in the investigation and is regarded as an independent form of writing.
