All the authors of this volume have encountered Thomas Witte as colleagues and collaborators during his academic career. The contents reflect his diverse areas of research and teaching. The origins lie in the field of production management, which he has analyzed using simulation approaches. He has recognized that many problems cannot be solved without a solid understanding of business administration and management theory. Keeping people in mind, he has built a bridge between economics and ethics. He is very open to the groundbreaking changes in face-to-face teaching brought about by new media and actively participates in their further development.
