Product details

The expansion of wind energy plays a crucial role in Germany's energy transition. The task of spatial planning and land-use planning is to manage wind energy installations in the interest of sustainable spatial development. This raises a variety of questions for planning practice, such as the different regulatory authorities at the planning levels, the control models applied, the distinction between planning and approval procedures, repowering, the impact of spatial planning objectives on existing and upcoming land-use plans, and not least the area of emissions and nature conservation. These questions formed the framework for a scientific conference at the Technical University of Berlin on September 17 and 18, 2012. The conference proceedings document the options and requirements for the spatial planning of wind energy installations that were presented and discussed. Thus, it provides an important practical guide.
