Product details
The social system of science is characterized, particularly in the internal scientific discourse, by closed communication structures. Science blogs, as an application of Web 2.0, can break open these classical structures and create new forms of science communication through networking and interaction opportunities. Based on an empirical media usage analysis from the perspective of scientists, science journalists, and laypeople, this research work provides answers to the questions of what function and potential science blogs have as a new form of science communication.
