Product details
This work is dedicated to the contextualization of Karoline von Günderrode within the epoch around 1800, incorporating her philosophical studies. Her excerpts, which engage with the key representatives of early Romanticism in philosophy and literature, are systematically compared with the sources she referenced. Starting from the specific focuses of philosophy, her influence on literary work is examined, particularly through the connection of love and death as well as the concepts of natural philosophy. In the ambivalent shaping of the subjectivity problem, which can also be traced in the works of Kleist and Tieck, and in her turn towards natural philosophy, Günderrode's unique position in the transition from early to late Romanticism is revealed.
