This volume features 14 excursions into the field. In most cases, these are circular routes best explored by bicycle. The Hochfelln is accessible via cable car. The last excursion is designed for several days and follows the Inn Valley Cycle Path with some detours. An appendix addresses the current discussion surrounding the alleged impact of a comet in Chiemgau 2,500 years ago. Dr. Robert Darga is the director of the Natural History and Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf. Experienced from the numerous excursions he conducts each year, he knows the area like few others. Dr. Johann Franz Wierer is a freelance collaborator at the Geological Service of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment, focusing on the Quaternary of the Alpine Foreland. He has also explored the area through many excursions and was involved in the design of the Haager Toteiskesselweg.
