A comprehensive work on small fungi is now available for the Central European species of the German-speaking region. Following a general section, there is an extensive special section with identification keys. Based on the respective host plant (genus), identification is facilitated through dichotomous keys that consider both macroscopic and microscopic features. Information on distribution and frequency, seasonal occurrence, as well as literature references complement and ease the identification process. Symptoms of infestation are illustrated with numerous color photographs, while microscopic features are shown through black-and-white photos. The book is aimed at biologists in both professional and leisure contexts, as well as experts in agriculture, horticulture, plant protection, forestry, ecology, and nature conservation.
