Product details
Lea Börger investigates the prevalence of pharmacological neuroenhancements among students and their impact. The author conducts an online survey of 1,737 students from three universities in the Braunschweig region. A specially designed questionnaire assesses the use of prescription medications, illegal drugs, and over-the-counter products, categorized by motives for cognitive enhancement and mood improvement or reduction of anxiety and nervousness. The findings reveal that the prevalence rates are low, but higher compared to other studies conducted at German universities. Therefore, trends should be monitored.
