My name is Pia. Most of the time in my life, I am an ordinary dog, but when the beeper goes off, I have a mission: I am one of 3,500 rescue dogs in Germany. Together with my handler Stephan, I have experienced a lot: I flew to Tokyo as a rubble search dog in the earthquake zone around Fukushima, searched for missing persons, and rescued those in despair. Day and night, we rescue teams are on standby, ready to embark on our exciting missions in the race against time and for survival. And this is our story.
