Product details

As part of a research project funded by the EU Internal Security Fund (ISF-Police) and awarded by the Federal Criminal Police Office as the responsible authority, the Institute for Police and Security Research (IPoS) at the University of Applied Public Sciences (HfÖV) Bremen examined the aspects of radicalization and deradicalization in German correctional facilities, as well as the possibilities for the societal (re)integration of prisoners, with a particular focus on structures outside of prison (aftercare and probation assistance, as well as prisoner support from radical environments). This book analyzes the relevant legal framework in Germany against the backdrop of international regulations and practices. It also includes surveys of experts from the fields of correctional services, probation assistance, ministries (political level), public prosecution, legal advocacy, constitutional protection, police, academia, and civil society actors. Recommendations for action are derived from the findings.
