Melih, a young man from Damascus and one of the millions of refugees who came to Germany in 2015. Marie, one of the many volunteers who support refugees, a mother, and in a long-term partnership. Since she met Melih in the German course, her entire daily life increasingly revolves around him. The two become entangled in a secret love affair that cannot be. Both know: it cannot continue like this, yet they cannot let go of each other.
