Markus Cheng has retreated into a private idyll and feels no connection to the fact that several actors are being murdered in Vienna, all of whom have been "postmarked": a Norwegian stamp is stuck to their tongues. Cheng, on the other hand, is entirely devoted to raising tiny brine shrimp, one of which he names Batman. But as they say: the past catches up with him and soon makes him comprehend the fabric of the world between Madeira and Vienna, between prehistoric times and the present, between heaven and hell.
