Over 100,000 families in Germany are affected: One parent has been diagnosed with cancer. When people receive a cancer diagnosis, their lives change abruptly. They must make decisions in a situation where they can hardly think clearly due to despair, fear, and uncertainty. Children are very attuned to their parents' worries and now have to cope with new, intense emotions. Their fears and fantasies about the onset and course of the illness are often worse than reality.
