Energy is something everyone needs; without energy, a life at today's standards is not possible. Despite all alternative energy sources, the base load is still generated using the tried-and-true method. The units in power plants are not only incredibly heavy, but they also have massive dimensions. Transporting them is becoming increasingly difficult: weight-restricted bridges, roundabouts, infrastructure. And it’s getting more exciting! Transformers, generators, and turbines are the heavyweights in heavy transport. Michael Müller has been tracking these transports for 25 years. He presents the results here with a wealth of unique, mostly unpublished photographs.
