Albin Zollinger was one of the most significant writers in Switzerland during the pre-war period. Max Frisch, whose early work was influenced by him, stated: "As a lyricist, he remains a star that does not rise over the German-speaking world every few decades." Zollinger's poems are characterized by intense visuality. In the variety of intonations, the early modernity resonates.
