Product details
Max Weber delivered his famous lecture on "Politics as a Vocation" in 1919 in Munich as part of a lecture series on career choices for students. At the heart of Weber's considerations is the ethical obligation of the politician. He is well-known for his distinction between ethics of responsibility and ethics of conviction. Weber's frequently quoted concluding remark that politics is primarily "a strong and slow drilling of hard boards" has also entered common parlance.
