Political economy is an area of intersection: how the economy is modulated by politics and, conversely, how politics itself is influenced by economic issues. This is significant in questions of justice as well as in matters of public goods, which are political goods in their own right; and it applies to trade unions just as much as to the welfare policy transformation of subsidies into investments, the vague reform program. At the same time, the term political economy serves as a code for the social aspects of the economy that are not considered in pure economics: for the new transformation goods, for the relationship between economy and art, etc. Transformation goods are those that cannot simply be consumed but require a contribution: a collaboration, or transform one in such a way that one becomes the product oneself.
