The personal stories of suffering among women are inseparable from the painful collective history of femininity in the patriarchy. Stripped of the protection of the ancient Mother Goddess and demonized by a zealous Father God, women find themselves physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually homeless. Without a loving reflection in a maternal image of God and without connection to the feminine roots of life, they become weakened and estranged from themselves. Healing femininity thus requires a reconnection to the feminine-divine origin of life. The feminine seeks to be recognized in its value, to be healed, and to be empowered. This is the subject of this book. For over 30 years, the author has researched and worked on the theme of 'wounded femininity.' In doing so, she addresses the deeper causes of male violence against the feminine. Just as in a therapeutic healing crisis, the journey from darkness to light, from pain to joy unfolds, this book guides both women and men repeatedly through the abysses of human existence into loving acceptance and life force. Theory, experiential examples from transpersonal psychotherapy, as well as instructions and exercises for personal and therapeutic practice promote a holistic healing path and the rediscovery of the feminine primal power in the service of life.
