Alexander Korte critically questions the negative influence of pornographic offerings on underage consumers, distinguishing between children and adolescents as well as the various contents of online pornography. He encourages a critical reflection on the neglect and victimization debate surrounding (online) pornography and urges an examination of the evident "moral panic" in relation to unconscious motives, while not overlooking the potential risks that should not be underestimated from a developmental psychology perspective. Korte explores the everyday cultural phenomenon of pornography from both a psychoanalytical-cultural studies perspective and the viewpoint of empirical sexual science and developmental psychology. He describes the different psychological integration tasks faced by boys and girls during the physical changes associated with puberty.
