Product details

1961 was the first year of the 1.5-liter Formula 1. In Germany, there was only one manufacturer willing and able to participate: Porsche. Initially, the monoposto named 718, which was essentially a Spyder at heart, was sufficient. However, Porsche went all out and built the last German Formula 1 car from a single source to date. The engine, chassis, body, and brakes of the 804 were all made in-house, resulting in a true Silver Arrow. It was a bit too much and a bit too expensive, but it was an incredibly exciting piece of motorsport history. Wonderful, previously unpublished images illustrate the memories of those who were there, and a complete statistic rounds off the first comprehensive documentation of Porsche's Formula 1 experiment. This work fills the last major gap in your Porsche collection.
