This book is not a psychology of learning. It focuses exclusively on learning in the school and academic context, meaning it is limited to verbal learning. In verbal learning, we distinguish between what is known as rote learning and insight learning, also referred to by some as problem-solving learning. To avoid misunderstandings from the outset, it must be stated that one cannot speak of a learning method or a single learning method that would be suitable for all students. Rather, this book is about learning strategies that explain how to manage learning materials and carry out the corresponding learning processes. Often, the reader will find many of their own learning strategies confirmed and formally presented, which they already know and use; however, we hope that new learning approaches will also be introduced.
