Those who wish to experience medieval Austria not only through its medieval buildings and images, which have often been replaced by baroque masterpieces, but as a complete spiritual cosmos, must focus on the written records from that time. This volume assists in this endeavor through local articles that geographically assign authors and anonymous works from approximately 1060/70 to 1440/50, as far as this can be scientifically substantiated—though in many cases, this is a laborious task due to a lack of sufficient evidence.
