Prevention and health promotion are becoming increasingly important in healthcare. This presents new challenges for nursing: through the amendment of the Nursing Act, the legislator assigns preventive and health-promoting tasks and responsibilities. However, there is still a lack of concepts and theoretical foundations, as well as systematic knowledge on how nursing can effectively contribute. This book presents specific preventive and health-promoting tasks for nursing. It highlights the potentials, resources, and the meaningful integration of nursing professions. The authors demonstrate that this does not lead to increased costs, but rather improves the quality of healthcare. In doing so, they contribute to the conceptualization of prevention and health promotion in nursing.
