The book aims to establish a common foundation for various methods of production control, thereby providing a unified perspective on the manufacturing process. It examines the methods currently used in production planning and control, as well as process planning, focusing on their similarities, presenting unified structures, and forming the basis for a theoretical framework. Based on this foundation, the methods in use today are systematically presented. Particularly beneficial for the reader are case studies and the identification of areas and approaches that are not covered by the systems currently in use.
