Project leadership typically occurs in groups, extending down to the lowest levels. Unique challenges arise from the heterogeneity of the individuals involved, the typical time pressure of projects, and the malleability of the personnel, organizational, and technical framework conditions of project work. Against this backdrop, the question arises of how complex projects can be effectively managed. In response to this question, the author team has developed the approach of systemic project leadership over the past ten years. In this context, the quality of communication is crucial: calmness and curiosity, knowledge of current theories, as well as practical agile methods and tools that can be situationally applied in a given context, are at the forefront.
