Product details

Modern phenomenology is a current, very vibrant scientific method that is outlined here in its historical development from ancient beginnings. So far, there has been no introduction that leads phenomenology from such a broad perspective into the present day. Most authors tend to focus emphatically on the popular names of Husserl and Heidegger, often concluding with Merleau-Ponty. However, the perspective developed here is critical of the founding fathers and provides an overview of the development in the second half of the 20th century as well. This development continues to be influential today and has allowed phenomenology to flourish anew. Given the abundance of material, it was necessary to concentrate on the core questions regarding what a phenomenon is, as well as the meanings of body and subjectivity, while also providing a dense description.
