In the forest near Häverstädt, a horrifically mutilated body is discovered. The victim was tied to a tree and then repeatedly run over by a car. After the autopsy, it turns out that the victim was the young lawyer Pia Baumgarten. Shortly thereafter, another young woman is killed in the same manner. Is there a psychopath on the loose in Minden? Minden's Commissioner Marlene Borchert and her team receive support from a group of colleagues from Bielefeld led by Benno Erdmann. Together, they work tirelessly to solve the murders. Marlene and Benno were once a couple, but this does not interfere with their investigation until Marlene confronts the killer on her own and is confronted by her own past.
