Product details

For millennia, people have tried to understand the creation of the world and the emergence of evil (and its consequence, suffering) in this world. Often, they have represented it in the form of mythologies, which is why one finds symbolic narratives in the sacred texts of all religions that must be interpreted. The Christian tradition took the narrative of Moses in Genesis, which states that God created man and woman on the sixth day and brought them into the Garden of Eden among all kinds of animals and plants. Moses named only two trees in this garden: the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, from whose fruits God forbade Adam and Eve to eat. The Tree of Life represented the unity of life, where no polarization manifests, meaning there is neither good nor evil: a realm beyond good and evil. The other tree, on the other hand, represented the world of polarization, where one is subjected to the alternation of day and night, joy and suffering, etc. Thus, these two trees symbolize regions in the universe and are not merely plants. And when God told Adam and Eve that they must not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, it meant that they were not yet allowed to enter the realm of polarization.
