The hiring of staff with psychiatric experience and the utilization of their individual experiential knowledge for the recovery process of those with psychiatric disorders has expanded the dialogue among affected individuals, relatives, and professionals by the factor of "Peer Support." The institutional integration of EX-IN recovery companions (from the English "Experience Involvement"), their employment in psychiatric facilities, and the successful and beneficial inclusion of peers in professional teams is still not a routine process despite many pilot projects.
