In 2002, Wolfgang Blankenburg, one of the great figures in German-speaking psychopathology and psychotherapy of the 20th century, passed away. Blankenburg made indispensable contributions to the further development of these fields, taking into account anthropological and philosophical approaches. His habilitation thesis "The Loss of Natural Self-Evidence" (1971) has been translated into several languages. Blankenburg initially worked in Freiburg and Heidelberg. Later, he directed psychiatric clinics in Bremen and at Philipps University Marburg. This volume brings together otherwise hard-to-access essays from all periods of Blankenburg's work. The collection of texts, which is representative of his overall work, is oriented around the key concepts and fundamental ideas of Blankenburg's thinking. It includes pioneering contributions to the relationship between philosophy.
