The "intersubjective turn" has had significant impacts on the further development of psychoanalysis over the past 25 years. It is based on the intense, reciprocal intertwining of analyst and analysand and replaces the old paradigm of transference and countertransference with the model of a dynamic intersubjective field. One aim of this volume is to make the relational-intersubjective theories, which have so far primarily received attention in the English-speaking world, accessible to a German-speaking audience and to promote the discussion of these theories in this country. The contributors summarize key assumptions of this new paradigm and explore their significance for individual, couple, and group therapy, child analysis, body therapy, supervision, and the understanding of cultural phenomena.
