Self-discovery and identity development are increasingly challenging in today's world. The decline of religious beliefs and traditional values poses significant challenges, especially for the youth. Even in childhood, weak attachments, traumas, and other pathogenic factors can lead to mental illnesses and identity disorders. The authors approach the concept of identity in relation to attachment disorders, self-discovery, and socialization. Additionally, the interpersonal and sociocultural dimensions, as well as aspects such as home, migration, and uprooting, are addressed.
