Feasts and commemorative days in honor of the Mother of God shape the entire church year. In particular, the months of May and October are dedicated to her. A spirituality oriented towards Mary does not lead away from the center of the Christian faith, Jesus Christ, but rather deepens the understanding of his mystery. The great liturgical book of Marian devotion therefore offers models for worship services for various forms of celebration, prayers and meditations, songs and litanies, spiritual impulses and homilies, images and texts, in which Mary is experienced as a prominent figure of faith and a compassionate companion of Christians.
