Hamburg - Kleine Stadtgeschichte
German, Matthias Gretzschel, 2016Product details
Since July of this year, the Speicherstadt and the Kontorhausviertel have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The "Kleine Stadtgeschichte" tells of Hamburg's eventful history: from the Viking attacks on the Hammaburg in the 9th century to the execution of the legendary pirate Störtebeker in 1401, from a forged document with which the city gained enormous economic advantages in the middle of the 13th century to catastrophes such as the French period at the beginning of the 19th century, the Great Fire of 1842, the Firestorm of July 1943, and the Great Flood in 1962.
