Sometimes words fail in the face of the suffering of sick people. Sometimes it is indeed best to be close to those affected through looks and gestures, accompanying them in this way. However, some situations demand expression and want to be articulated. Faith and the relationship with God require an appropriate language during difficult life phases. This workbook serves as a workshop for various situations in which pastoral caregivers and volunteers wish to pray with the sick, celebrate worship services, bring their distress before God, or encounter Him in the sacrament. The author has many years of experience as a hospital chaplain and as a caregiver in outpatient palliative care.
