Adrian Schiess is one of the young Swiss artists (born 1959) who approaches new artistic terrain with an open mind. His work follows the ongoing lines of the great history of abstract painting in the 20th century and is already represented in various museums across Europe. Additionally, Adrian Schiess has a special relationship with architecture, which has resulted in collaborations with the two internationally renowned architectural firms Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and Gigon/Guyer in Zurich. Max Wechsler, one of the most important international art critics in the contemporary art scene, analyzes the eight works presented and places them in the context of Adrian Schiess's artistic output.
