Product details

In recent years, a concise body of work has emerged from the hands of Geneviève Bonnard and Denis Woeffray in the Valais and Vaud regions, with each project presenting convincing architectural solutions that surprise and explore the boundaries of architecture. The architect duo gained recognition in 2001 with two distinctive primary schools in Bouveret and Fully. Since then, they have completed residential buildings and two additional school buildings. With each construction project, they respond intelligently, consistently, and in depth to the often extreme conditions of the task at hand. Where allowable construction costs are minimized, as in the case of the school for social work in Lausanne, they develop remarkable architectural potential from "poor" and "raw" materials, designing robust and highly functional details. This is especially true in areas where strict and restrictive building regulations are imposed.
