The collaboration between architects and engineers is remarkably under-documented. While architects have relied on the contributions and calculations of civil engineers for decades, these efforts are rarely acknowledged. With this publication, we aim to shift this emphasis. At the center of the presentation of five wooden structures designed by Zurich architects Marianne Burkhalter and Christian Sumi are the technical plans from the engineering office of Peter Makiol and Roland Wiederkehr in Beinwil, which can evoke their own suggestions, clarifying the development history and the construction site operations while showcasing the construction strategies. These are projects from the last three years with very different tasks: two residential projects, two pavilions, and a roof extension on a neoclassical administrative building.
